Huasco…I loved this little city; I loved this little city with all my heart. Part of el Norte Chico, about 14 hours north of Santiago in bus, Huasco has beautiful beaches, ever-so friendly people and charm. Un encanto.

In-between jobs, I threw aside all doubts of spending the money to do this, deciding it was just something that had to be done. How often you find yourself with free time during what is said to be one of the flowering desert’s most phenomenal years in recorded history? Fortunately, Maiten was able get a day off work, and together, we headed to Huasco.

 Best decision ever. It was virtually a flawless trip, one that I will remember fondly.

 And today, we’ll start with the charm of Huasco.
