This is a Chianti best paired with an episode of Derek, while laughing out loud with your mother at Gervais’ brilliant screen writing and acting.
I mean, I should have known, a Chianti cheaper than yellow tail probably wasn’t going to impress my mouth much. A bit tart with nothing overly pronounced, this is surely a wine best sipped while sidetracked. Oh well, I had some fantastic Chiantis on my recent trip to Italy (stay tuned over on the phlog for upcoming posts!).
Cantina del Valdarno Superiore Chianti 2013
A clear ruby red of medium intensity. A clean nose with medium intensity displaying aromas of sour cherries, nuts and spices such as black pepper. Dry in mouth with a medium (+) acidity, medium alcohol, medium tannins and a medium (-) body. Flavors such as cherry, slightly unripe plum and tobacco lead way to a medium (-) finish. An inexpensive, acceptable wine.
