So apart from taking photos, I also love making jewelry. I’ve been making my own creations for years now, and I’d like to share a few of my favorites.
I wish I could say the “Rock, Paper, Scissors” necklace was self-inspired, but I got the idea from RPSshoot on Etsy. Still, this necklace has a lot of me in it. First scissors, which remind me of my mother. Second rocks, well because in a way, it reminds me of my father. I’m homesick, did you catch that? Lastly, my favorite quote from the Chilean poet Pablo Neruda, “Quiero hacer contigo lo que la primavera hace con los cerezos.” “I want to do to you what springtime does to the cherry trees.” I just think it’s clever, so I wrote it down and after some lacquering up via clear nail polish, voila. An idea from another, adapted into my own.
Now this is an original, “The Beatles.” This idea came from a deep love for the Beatles and a calendar, 12 months of the Beatles. So, I found a clever way to recycle some of its photos, framing Ringo, George, Paul and John around my neck.
And lastly we have my “Bejeweled,” an idea I got from The Wire Artist magazine.
Granted, it would be more glamorous had I used real sterling silver, but I still love this necklace and sport it often. There was a lot of time and effort put into this one.
Ooooooh I love the first one! It’s terrific. Did you take classes, or just whip them up?
Thanks ma lady! I just always looked at examples and whipped them up. I would still love to take classes though…one day!
