Monday Memories – Carmen’s Eden.

I looked at this phlog and thought how at one point, I didn’t need to go to the flowering desert, because I lived within it, right here in Santiago.

Manos verdes,” Green hands: An extraordinary ability to make plants grow. In English, this would be known as a “green thumb.”

However you look at it, be it a green thumb or green hands, Carmen, the lovely mother of my lovely boyfriend, has it/them. Sitting on the patio on a bright sunny day, during those brief moments when all neighborhood dogs are quiet, one can feel as if they’re in the Garden of Eden. Surrounded by lush greens, hundreds of cacti, succulents, and blooms, it is a plant lover’s haven. It also happens to be an excellent place for a girl who loves photography and has some free time and a macro lens to play around for a bit.
